Dear Elizabeth - These bottles are made from PVC plastic which is incompatible with hot filled products. Unfortunately, we dont carry any plastic bottles that are suitable for hot filling and recommend that you use Glass Bottles and Metal Caps with inner gaskets instead.

PET is the type of plastic used to make this bottle and stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate. PET provides very good alcohol and essential oil barrier properties, generally good chemical resistance (although acetones and ketones will attack PET) and a high degree of impact resistance and tensile strength. This material does not provide resistance to high temperature applications -- max. temp. 140° F.

The Pressure Sensitive Inner Seals are designed to provide tamper evidence to help consumers identify whether or not a container has been opened prior to use. The pressure sensitive liners adhere to the bottle opening when the closure is applied and remain in place when the cap is removed. No extra equipment is required. Please note that this material needs a dry land area on the bottle and therefore is most suitable for use with dry products such as vitamins, foods and pharmaceuticals. They do not necessarily need washing, but it is a good idea. Bear in mind that these plastic bottles melt at a relatively low temperature (140F).

Yes you can allow the product to cool to below 140 degrees F and fill safely. Unfortunately we do not have data to tell you how long the product will be preserved without refrigeration, there are too many variables which affect this answer. You will have to test and determine this answer for yourself based on your particular recipe and filling and storage conditions.
