PET Plastic provides very good alcohol and essential oil barrier properties, and generally good chemical resistance (although acetones and ketones will attack PET). As always, we recommend that you test your product in the container you choose prior to use since we are not familiar with your product and cannot make any guarantees.

The PET Plastic Jars are safe to be put in the freezer, but we dont recommend using them in the microwave.

PET does not provide resistance to high temperature applications (max. temp. 160° F). Autoclaves use temperatures of 121° Celsius (= 250° F), or higher. We can recommend any of our Polypropylene (PP) jars for this application.

All the bottles and jars we carry are FDA food grade, however, in order to vacuum pack your product, you will need to use glass jars with plastisol lined metal lids.

PET is a very resilient material, it is the same material that water bottles are made from. You may be thinking of styrene, which is a brittle material. The jars should prove to be satisfactory in shipping.

Size: 4 oz squat jars w/lids

Product use: I put all my spices into individual jars, used a label maker to label the top of each them, and lined them up alphabetically in a spare kitchen drawer.

What is good: Ive never liked the commercial spice racks, each for their unique reasons. The main one is they just dont have enough capacity. With my new scheme, I can expand to whatever I need (right now I have over 40 spices). All spices are now within easy reach and easy to find. The containers are air tight so the spices should keep longer. Also, in the past Id sometimes buy another jar of a seldom used spice because I couldnt find it in the pantry, but now that wont happen.

What is not so good: Nada
