Customer Questions

Q: Wanting to bottle BBQ sauce for friends. Can I use your bottles and caps in a boiling process like canning folks suggest? Or do you have other tips for achieving a sanitary vacuum seal? Thanks

A: Yes, our glass bottles and metal caps with rubber gaskets are suitable for creating a vacuum seal using both the hot fill method or boiling process.

Q: What is your reccomendation for the best lid for BBQ sauce for pressure sealing?

A: You can use these bottles to get a vacuum seal, but you must also use the Metal (M) caps as well. The plastisol liner of the Metal caps will maintain a vacuum seal with the glass bottle. For a lid with a pressure sensitive inner seal - for tamper evidence only - use the (FRPS22) Fine Ribbed Lined Closure with Pressure Sensitive Inner Seal.

Q: I am home brewing Kombucha Tea. I bottle at room temperature. There is some slight carbonated pressure in the bottle. I need 16 oz glass bottles and caps that seal air tight and can be reused. What do you recommend?

A: The Swing Top Squares or Swing Top Flasks are an excellent choice. Depending on your preferred style, you may also want to consider the BBQ Sauce Rounds, the Glass Boston Rounds or the Wide Mouth Cylinder Jars. We recommend that you select the Metal Cap (cap code M) with these bottles.

Q: What are the recommended size labels to use with the 16oz BBQ sauce glass round jar?

A: The suggested label size for the 16 oz. BBQ Sauce Round Glass is 9.25" x 3.75".

Q: do you have anything similar in PET plastic

A: We carry PET Ring Neck Sauce Rounds that are similar in style or, you may also want to consider the Clear PVC BBQ Sauce Rounds.

Q: hi are these bottles sealable or designed for canning? I would be using them for my barbecue sauce that would be sitting on shelfs till opened? thanks

A: Yes, these bottles are suitable to be used for hot filling or home canning. Just be sure to choose the Metal Caps with inner gaskets (cap code M).

Q: If I were to design a label for the 10oz. bottle, is there a recommended size the label should be. Also, is there an existing Avery label that would work with the bottle size?

A: The recommended label size for the 10 oz BBQ Sauce Glass Bottle is 2.5" x 7.5". You may find a corresponding Avery label at www.avery.com.

Q: if i want to bottle my own sauce and i get the plastic lids can i use the boiling method? Or do i have to get the metal lids?

A: If you are using the boiling method, you will need to use the metal lids with rubber gaskets.

Q: Can I just order tops for bottles; I have plenty of bottles, but my tops have broken over time

A: Yes. You can order caps separately in the "Closure" section of our website by clicking here. Be sure that the caps you order have the same neck finish as your bottles. You can also call us toll free at 888-215-0023, and we will be happy to assist you.

Q: Hi, Im interested in the 10oz bottles to use as bottled BBQ sauce wedding favors. The sauce is made by a local BBQ company but I would bottle it. Whats the best cap/way to seal these? I can refrigerate them until the wedding but would like to make them a month or so in advance. Id rather not handle them with a pressure seal/canning style appraoch as it will take forever to do that number of bottles. Is there a good seal that will keep them fresh for a month?

A: The shelf life of your product depends on the recipe and the ingredients. Some sauces require to be vacuum packed while others dont. The caps we sell provide a leak proof seal when used with our bottles and the pressure sensitive inner seals provide tamper evidence to help consumers identify whether or not a container has been opened prior to use. The cap or inner seal will not prolong a products shelf life. You may want to check with the BBQ company making the sauce to find out how long it will keep fresh after it is bottled.

Q: Can these bottles be used in a pressure canner?

A: Yes, these bottles are suitable to be used in a pressure canner.

Q: What is the size of the mouth of this jar?

A: The inner diameter of these bottles measures 28 mm.

Q: Do I need a machine to use the "pressure sensitive inner seal"?

A: The pressure sensitive inner seals adhere to the bottle opening when the closure is applied. No special equipment is needed.

Product use: I made some homemade bbq sauce that I wanted to share with friends and family.

What is good: They were perfect for my sauce. I ordered some labels online, and they looked real professional when I was done with them
What is not so good: The caps that I ordered with them dont always seal like they are supposed to. When closed a safety seal is supposed to stick to the rim. And it doesnt always do that
About the service: excellent
From eBottles: Eric: Thank you for your feedback. The pressure sensitive inner seals are really designed to be used with dry products. You can use them with BBQ sauce but the neck of the bottle must be completely dry or the liners wont seal.

What is good: Love the plastic lids on the glass bottles. The glass keeps the water from getting too many dioxins (such as plastic bottles give off) and the lids are hard plastic which are less likely to add dioxins to the water, plus the plastic lid doesnt leave metallic residue build-up on the bottles mouth.
What is not so good: One of the lids broke right after we got them. The plastic wasnt as durable as perhaps they could be. No other caps have broken yet though.
About the service: The service was excellent. The nice thing is that an extra plastic lid was included which was a good replacement for the one that broke. I have already recommended you to a couple of people.
